I dont like collars so Ive always used a slip lead with my dogs. Seams simplea rope with a handle, a ring and a stopper. But if the ring isnt strong-no good. If the stopper moves-no good. If the handle is cumbersome-no good. I love this leashdurable material that doesnt snag or fray. And a hook that has a place for poop bagswithout getting in the way of your hand.
I have a 100ish pound Labrador and this works as a great training tool. It has a little stretch but not enough to really be a nuisance. I trained my pup on it and have gotten it soaking wet and it has held up great. The little leather mechanism to set the neck width is easy to slide and use. The padded hand loop is also a nice touch. I'll be buying another whenever the time comes for sure.
